Just For Fun…Memory Tag

17 07 2008

I thought this would be fun.  I know it will probably also be a little embarrassing too! Oh well!

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can’t wait to see what people remember.

Happy Fourth!

Uncle Sam Street ViewWhile mapping a route to our camping destination I found this easter egg.

There are lots of reasons that I really like Google.  I have my job indirectly from them, they have a plethora of useful products and services, and the positive and creative impact they have on society.  But few come close to my love for their child-like observance of every holiday, even the very obscure ones.  And they do it in a myriad of different ways, not just the logo changing (remember April 1st’s Google paper?  or Virgle?).  Here’s Uncle Sam facing the direction on the street map view while I’m trying to map out directions to our camping spot.  Very Clever!  So along with Google and thousands of kindergarteners in papier-mâché something-er-others, Happy Independence Day!  Be safe and have fun!

June…In A Nutshell

1 07 2008

Who would have thought that being pregnant would cause such a decrease in blogging activity?  I apologize for my lack of posts in June, and to attempt to make up for this, here is June…in a nutshell.

The first weekend in June I had the opportunity to go down to Richfield, Utah and be a judge for the Utah State Cinderella Pageant.  This was so much fun!  It was very enjoyable to have a weekend away and dress up in some of my nicest clothes, things I would never wear as a mom.  One of the other judges just got off of the Wicked tour playing Glinda.  She performed “Popular” on the stage during finals night, and it was so fun to watch!  I couldn’t have asked for better judges to work with…we almost always agreed and the royalty we picked are going to be amazing!

The second week in June, Kaisa and I were off to Colorado to visit my brother and sister-in-law.  They are expecting a baby in September.  It was so fun to see them again and see some great stuff!

Kaisa’s Cute Hat

On Monday we went to Manitou Springs.  They had some great boutique-style shops there, where I got this cute hat for Kaisa.  I also found a bead shop to DIE for!

Pikes Peak

Family at Pikes Peak

On Tuesday we all went up to the top of Pikes Peak.  This is where “America The Beautiful” was penned.  It was absolutely breathtaking!  We chose to drive up rather than taking the train, and I was very nervous during some parts…you are literally driving right next to a sheer drop off!  From left: Roseanne, Me, Kaisa, Melodie, and Dad (Chris).

Bigfoot!

We saw Bigfoot run by as we were driving up…no joke!  :)

Seven Falls

Wednesday we went to Seven Falls.  Here we are with Aunt Bonnie!  The falls were so beautiful!  We hike up 200+ stairs to get to the top…well worth it, though!

The third week in June, we had my family visiting to help move my sister in.  She’s going to BYU!  I also hosted my other sister until she went to EFY.  It’s been fun having some extra hands around to help.  I was really feeling sick at the beginning of the week, but luckily it went away and I am feeling much better now.

And finally, the most exciting news!  Last week we heard that a couple in the ward would be moving out of their Evergreen townhome.  We had always thought that we would like to move over there when our family grew big enough, and it’s getting to that point.  We talked about it, and decided that this is as good a time as any!  We put an offer on their unit and we are now under contract!  We need to sell our Garden Park Condo first, though, so if you know any interested buyers…let us know!

I am so excited to move into our new home.  We’ll have a lot more space, and we’ll be able to finish the basement as we need it for even more space.  We’ll also have some nice things we haven’t had before, like a two-car garage, wood floors, jetted tub, and 9 foot ceilings!  I can’t wait!
